Creating the Route Costing File

Route Costing Logs are created during the Route List generation. A log for each day, and route is created with the date specified on the Route List selection screen.

When running a Route List-

For example: today is Friday September 10th and I want to run my Route Lists for all my Commercial Monday Routes. I select the company 01, Route type = COMM, the frequency and action codes I want to include. I select Monday only by placing a Ö in the Monday box. I click on the Print Route Cover Sheets box and Create Route Cost file and I date it September 13. 2004 since that is Monday’s date.

Route Cover Sheet

Once the Route Lists are generated, they will print by day then by route. Each route will have a Cover sheet that looks something like this (in 8 ½  x 11 form):

The Driver should fill out all information except for the “Sch Stops” and “Sch Lifts” (scheduled stops and scheduled lifts) since these will be automatically calculated by the route list. The cover sheets look exactly like the Route Costing Log entry screens for ease of data entry.
